I very rarely do, I only do it if it's something I've brought from a store that will replace it there and then if I take it into the store.
I bought a power supply last year, it didn't work when I got it, to get it replaced it had to be sent back to the manufacturer from the store, tested, then replaced if it was faulty.
It took over a week just because of postage times.
It was fucking retarded.
Even when things break under warranty, most of the time I'd rather just buy another one, sorting it out through warranty takes way too fucking long.
