By default, no.

Theres TLP and laptop mode tools which manage cpu scaling governors and things like that. And the power usage is about the same as windows

However I get much better system performance than on windows.

I'm using Linux but I really don't get what Arch is about. About ten years ago, I used Gentoo and Linux from Scratch (which sucked, desu). After some time, it just stopped being fun. Sure, you get into the details of the system but this knowledge is of little use.
Today, I prefer the major distros.
