Humor is one of those black box things. I can break it down and understand it, but delivery is just beyond the reach of autists.Combined with most peoples' dislike of dry humor and it's game over. They already didn't like you and this is the perfect excuse to get you in trouble. I'll occasionally try to slip a joke in but unless I'm drunk no one else finds it funny. I'm pretty sure the only reason they think it's funny is because they see me drunk and cutting up while they themselves are drunk. I used to carry around a sprite bottle filled with vodka all day. Good times but when I started waking up with the tremens I knew it was time to cut back.

As far as I can tell the plans were ridiculous enough to obviously be a joke, so that part is fine. Climate change is a big thing among the ivory tower anti-intellectuals, so the audience was right as well. There is the zero tolerance policy of course but I really thinks it comes down to grudges. Autists have a tendency to just judge things on a case by case basis but you must remember allistic are not this way. It could be the greatest thing in the world but if it's linked to someone they dislike they unintentionally transfer their emotions for the individual onto the product. They have a sort of emotional incontinence and are incapable of performing independent thought. Prepare an apology but focus more on the delivery than content find something about them to garner sympathy. Remember they are emotional beings, so just saying it's a joke is not enough.

It was the setting that made it awkward. Never put jokes in a presentation, they always end in 2 ways, either nobody laughs or everyone laughs but the instructor is pissed off. Also you won't be kicked out, the professor will probably ask what the fuck is wrong with you just apologize and tell him you didn't realize how inappropriate it was when you made it. It helps just to tell the full truth, if they catch you lying about anything terrorism related they will freak out and that's how you get kicked out.
