I honestly wish Rubio would have gotten the Secretary of State job over Tillerson. I hate a lot of things about Rubio, but he demonstrated in the debates last year that he has some truly remarkable foreign policy savvy, especially among senate Republicans.

My whole issue with "let the states decide" is that members of Congress almost always know which way their state is going to lean on an issue, and that's when they typically adopt that approach. Maybe not the best, but certainly more in-touch with issues facing the youth demographic than most other members of either political party (he's technically an Independent, not a Democrat, which is a win in my book).
