I was utterly nihilistic through my teen years, saw myself and the human species as a blight on the planet. Believed my only purpose is to reproduce and die.

Then I went down the rabbit hole. I now see nihilism as a symptom of a world designed to strip us of our self love and respect. To see each other as nothing more than animals. To stop caring about our future and happiness.

Humanity is being turned into mindless drones who feel nothing and will do what their told. They'll consume the cancer causing products because "Fuck it, I'll be dead some day anyway."

If you want to make the masses your slaves,strip them of their self respect, dignity, and any belief in a higher power, even if that higher power resides within themselves.

The sense of purpose isn't a thing to come without seeking it, you may feel disappointed in the value of life as it could summarized to what is the point, but what you don't get is one experiences and attachment to the abstract reflection of what build your worldview is relative and your world is build around an interpretation you've been self-actualizing since age 4, your cognitive theory s i may speak.

But this cognitive theory of yours doesn't have meaning or sense fundamentally, because it is intrisically tied to making sense to you, as such your conciousness is nothing but a self reliant reflection of your thinking process.

So don't go whining about nihilistic whining of what's the point. Because you're the reason behind this dellusion and this line of thinking, because your line of thinking in itself is a construct, and therefore a lie.

You can't even prove that the physical plane we reside on even exists, so to buy into any other philosophy means you're taking it on faith that the things you're arguing over, nations, cultural phenomena, events etc are even existent. I'm nihilistic in that I don't believe there's an objective meaning to anything. But you can make meaning for yourself. If there is no god or no meaning of life, this shouldn't matter at all. Strive to achieve what you want and live a fulfilling life, do it for yourself and your loved ones.
Just because there are no deities to live for or destinies to fulfill doesn't make life not worth living.
I believe morality is subjective too. This isn't a bad thing either. Just don't be a shithead edgelord. sSociety changes, people's ideas change. Just follow your heart and mind, and be the best person you can be.

I get what the one guy who is rambling in this thread says. Life is a stupid fucking game. But it's honestly not meant to be that way. It's meant to have a purpose beyond just earning money to consume products. Both of those activities serve a clear purpose, to make someone else rich. All the while you toil away in misery, making your life seem utterly pointless. But us humans used to be hunter gatherers. We used to lead lives which were truly fulfilling. Not really, I'm making an assumption by pressuposing the universe exists but I do't thats necessarily invalid. First, there's very good reasons to make those presuppositions, they aren't arbitrary. Secondly, I acknowledge the presuppositons I make. Thirdly, if a philosophy comports with "reality" then it's valid with respect to that "reality" regardless of whether you claim its real or not.

This entire thread is making the assumption that meaning is objective and you must conform to what the most popular idea of "meaningful" is. You define meaning to yourself based upon what you want to do. Meaning isn't eternal. Meaning is subjective; based on subjective criteria. Do what you like but make sure that you're not just doing it because you can't be bothered to do something else that would be more meaningful to you.

because there are a multitude of factors behind every action I take that I'm not even aware of. I'm driven by my thoughts, rationalisations and emotions like all humans no matter what they believe. Life doesn't have to matter for me to act
