I like reddit for the more specific interest/hobby boards. It's better than the ones on 4chan, 4chan is too full of shitposters to browse boards for things you actually care about.

General reddit is usually annoying though. People making lame puns for karma, karma trains where people keep commenting just to score some upvotes, political propaganda everywhere, obviously made up stories that most people believe, collecting stuff from tumblr/twitter/etc. That's the bad side.

Sure, I'm not trying to justify it. Just sharing experiences because I used to be fairly unhappy feeling like I was stuck browsing 4chan because of how bad reddit seemed. I mean most of what people say is true, but that's like saying all movies/TV shows are horrible because they only watched basic cable for an hour. Both websites are good for different things.

Reminder that Reddit hate is immature, hypocritical and also completely baseless.

Yes, there are some issues. The karma system needs to be re-worked, puns need to stop being so frequent and the constant pop-culture references and normies on there are annoying.

However, there are actually some pretty cool subs if you know where to look. I like /r/shoegaze, /r/treemusic, /r/drugs, /r/psychedelicrock and a few other subs are okay. 4chan can definitely be worse too with it's near constant negativity, trolling, shitposting, fucked up shit spammed and attention whoring.

Every forum has it's flaws but I generally like 4chan and sometimes Reddit as there is way more to look at on there, especially specific interests. 4chan is a bit lacking there unless you go on here or /b/ (Which is shit)

There are "4chan" and "classic 4chan" subreddits where people post screencaps of greentext stories or funny replies like people listening to classic music that was popular 30 years ago. 4chan has stagnated a bit.
