no, but it is more prevalent and diagnosed in first world countries because of higher expectations from family, society and friends. people in first world countries can also actually afford counseling, therapy and such.

This. I'm a very depressed guy from 2nd world country and prices here are enormous. I'd very much like to get in therapy and fix myself but i cant afford it.

Depression is relative, anyone can feel sad and down
But yeah, it's more or less first worlders. However, keep in mind a guy in central Africa would be more worried about being murdered or starving than "muh feels"
