It should take around two weeks to adapt. It makes you feel horrible for that time then you slowly start to see improvements.

I'm off meds now and feel better. Replaced them with alcohol but I'm slowly weaning myself off that too.

As my life gets better, the less I need these substances. Let them help you through the hard times and get off them when you are better. Don't let them take over your life. You don't want to be on meds 20 years later.
