the only defining feature of old /b/ (and of 4chan in general) is contrarianism.

during the bush jr. years, 4chan was edgy and loved to act that way because that was the rep it had. people didn't talk about "the deep web" back then, if you wanted the raw fringe of the internet you went to /b/.
the retarded "double nigger" type stuff was funny because it was so offensive.
there was no overt political angle, it was just shitposting for pure edgy fun even if everybody was too young to realize it at the time.

whenever politics did come up, the overwhelming opinion of /b/ at least was that conservatism was a meme belief.

like, we now see what happens when someone creates an anonymous forum for anglos with (theoretically) few rules and just lets it run its course relatively unimpeded.

If we're on that topic. I found 4chan back in 2007 looking for porn back in my freshmen year. I'd come, look at porn, fap and then leave. Did that for 2 years till 2009 when I started browsing regularly. I was depressed from 2009-2011 so I don't remember much from that time. Time just flew by wanting to kill myself.
