That is indeed Pripyat. I'm brushing up on my dirt poor Ukrainian skills but the problem is the country is a tad unstable at the moment, I just hope I can still see the actual reactor 4 and not the giant covering they're going to put on it. Already know the Cyrillic alphabet so it shouldn't be too hard.

No idea. A friend of mine once was about to leave to go work in a station in Antarctica as a sysadmin. Poor fella got hit by a car one week before the ship was leaving. I guess your best bet is to be a scientist of some kind?

I'd have been beyond pissed if that happened to me. And surely they'd take more than just scientists, they'd also need people who keep the stations running (plumbers, electricians, HVAC, etc.) while the research is being done. Guess I'll keep looking into that.

Yeah I know. Between the Russian separatists and the West trying to get its influence in their it certainly isn't looking all that great, which is a damn shame. As a Slav I personally believe that we shouldn't be fighting each other so much, but I don't think that'll fully happen. Too much bad blood between everyone. At least things are looking good for Poland and such for now, better than the 80s/90s.

Nope, but while there are problems (as with everywhere else really) Poland can be comfy as fuck and the landscape is gorgeous, though if you ask me it could use a bit more mountains. Better Poland than some place like Sweden if you ask me.

yeah I don't live in Poland either but I agree that it can be very comfy, for me the comfiest part of Poland is the countryside I love the flat terrain with the gentle hills with small forests here and there

I don't like communism but Soviet architecture does have a certain interest to it. It's one of the reasons why I want to visit Pripyat, literally an entire city frozen in time.
