I'm considered a beginner, and hiked cascade mountain in 5th grade. now that I'm a bit older, I have to train my body to get into it again. which I'm doing this summer. its the best feeling when you reach the top. all the pain and shit we all feel, its all gone when you reach the summit. esp if you have somebody special with you, in my case I don't anymore sedu, but still...I'm in love with the view.

If you are new to hiking and the area, yes, it is reccommended you stay on trail, because you can easily get lost. I'm not sure if people go off trail a lot since I never do. But if they do they are usually very familiar with the place and have no trouble with it. And if you're hiking in a place like the mountains, keep in mind that going off trail can take you where more dangerous animals are at. The trails are generally designed to keep you away from them as much as possible.

The only way to find that out is by taking a look for yourself. Go to a few trails until you find the one that is less crowded. Another thing to consider is the time and date. Most people may hike in the mornings and during the weekends. I would go during sunset on a weekday.

I regularly visit the pine forest near my town, it is beautiful at this time of year. Just got back from a cold night walk a few hours ago, the moon and stars were beautiful.
