Take it to the VET, don't fucking keep it around.

Considering the amount of feathers, that bird is 4-8 weeks old. It wasn't abandoned, it likely just fell out of the nest while attempting to fly. The parents of the bird were likely nearby and still feeding it.

It probably has a lower chance of survival now then if you just left it on the ground. Feed it crushed worms and insects, don't bother with seeds. It's young, buy electrolytes and probiotics for chickens from a farm store or feed mill and give them it in its water.

You can take it to someone who rehabilitates birds if it gets close to death, call the humane society and ask who does it in the area.

Hey anon, the best course of action here is to find an expert to take care of him. Either he's too young and fell out of a nest or something is wrong with a wing so he can't fly away. If something is wrong with his wing and it doesn't heal properly he may never fly again. If he's too young he may be lacking the skills to survive in the wild. Look for bird sanctuaries, animal associations and organisations or vets in your area. It's his best chance for survival and rehabilitation.

In the mean time, keep him warm, make sure he has somewhere dark to sleep/get away from things if stressed out. Make sure he has water and crush some meat up to see if he'll eat it.
