There's two sides to it, people who believe that a person is their brain, and they cease to exist upon dying, and people who believe we have souls, both sides have interesting evidence.

For the skeptical side, we have neuroscience and people like Phineas Gage, whose personality changed completely when he had a metal pole lodged through his skull, destroying his frontal lobe.

For afterlife people, we have NDEs, yes, I know what you're thinking, same new-age religious bullshit, but there has been some research into it, which might be able to convince you that there's something after all this.

Anyway, don't worry too much about it, won't know until you die.
