Not an ego validation exercise! I've been in the place of depression and anger at the general world around me and it's not a good place to be. Pity is not a helpful emotion - people pitied me all the time, but it did sweet fuck all to actually improve my life. Unfortunately you are the only person that can lead yourself out of this, and it's hard work, but it's doable and imo it's worth it.
