Down Syndrome is trisomy on the 21st pair of chromosomes. Not the sexual chromosomes.

XXY still makes you male, iirc it's Klinefelter's syndrome. Most X/Y linked chromosome abnormalities still yield a rather clear sex, with some other problems tacked on.
