I have a boring job working with people I hate that pays enough for a middle class lifestyle.

I guess on paper, I'm a normie but I was an outcast in high school so I kind of just don't like people. I go out of my way to order food from restaurants that I know my high school classmates work at.

I write songs.
Lately I've been getting into producing, but I'm new and shit. I hate this feeling, I haven't been new at something for a while. It used to be exciting five years ago, now you get kids who are still in highschool who are much better than you at what you do and it makes me wonder why I even bother.

Then I listen to professional songs and realize I'll never be able to make something that great. Which is obvious, since those songs were made by a whole team of specialists while I'm trying to put everything together by myself. Which reminds me I have no friends and that I'll never get anywhere in life because of that which sucks.

Hobbies are depressing.

Also did fencing for a years but it's not my thing. Currently trying to get fit and want to start taking BJJ or judo classes once I'm back from traveling.

Otherwise I just work non-fucking-stop. I'm graduating university late due to work and travel but will be done three semesters after I return home in January. Most of my days comprise of little else other than part-time bullshit and writing.

Two fucking weeks and I'll be in South America.

But I thought they intentionally made those songs to be simple and repetitive, to appeal to the illiterate masses. You'll probably be writing better songs than them when you get the hang of it.

You're right about hobbies being depressing though. I'm the mountain biker from earlier in the thread and I have no friends so I usually ride alone, even though it's super dangerous.

It's not about the song writing. It's about the whole thing. There are things I'm really good at, such as writing melodies. But there are others I'm so-so or straight bad at.

So I listen to it and I know I can come up with songs that are about as good. But I can't create them cause my drums or my voice will never sound anywhere near this nor I can mix and master a track to this level.
