Jobs require at least a year of some work experience. Some even in that field. Seeing as how you can't get experience from a job as nobody will hire you as you have no experience, you gotta volunteer.
It's for the best. Its better to get experience for a year and not get money, then sit at home and not get money anyways but also gain no experience.
