What do you think the point was? I still don't understand it. Going hollow if you don't have a reason to live, humanity and the dark, disparity.
Is it what Aldia says? Just an existential theme? There is no path, yet we seek it, insatiably
>>
I don't. But my straight oneitis likes it therefore sometimes i fake that i have played it and such just to get his interest.
>>
>>36533843
I play it on pc. Doesn't it always use xbox buttons on pc?
>>
>>36533865
The point of the story is to carry on even when everything is going to end and there's nothing you can do about it. The point is to have seen what was there while it was there before it's gone. The main theme is the heat death of the universe and how precious our life and the world actually is. At least that's what I think.

I think Aldia's dialogue reflects the themes of Dark Souls II more than it does the themes of the series as a whole.
>>
>>36532282

>>
>>36534209
I fantasize about getting spitroasted and it would probably be even more arousing to think of doing that while in a Gwyndolin cosplay.

I've never actually considered doing something like that because I don't engage in casual sex or ever want to. I would feel very bad about myself for being a slut or a deviant. I also have very low self esteem and I don't really think anyone would want me in that situation anyway.

I'd rather just play video games or fap alone, safe and comfortable, rather than have to deal with people and all the negatives that come with it.
>>
Yes. It's my favorite series. I'll probably get around to playing Blooborne if it ever comes to PS Now.
>>
>>36534246
Get spitroasted already Gwyndolin.

OP I have a few hundred almost a thousand hours in dark souls. My typical run is to kill the moonlight butterfly then Sif, then proceed to the undead burg and move on from there so I can tackle the four kings immediately. I once got gravelorded which was really cool but as far as covenants go, Kaathe was my main man. Dark wraith armor for aesthetic. I never got the dlc.

My normal build was a faith with maxed faith scaling katana and wrath of the gods for pvp.

I miss it.

I have over a thousand hours in Dark Souls 1. You are really missing out by not playing the DLC, it's phenomenal.

I usually just play in the 'normal' route without any sequence breaking or master key. I usually do catacombs, sif, ash lake, and demon ruins up to ceaseless discharge before tackling sen's fortress, because I feel those areas are trivialized with the stats you'll gain from clearing anor londo and the painted world. My favorite weapon is the standard longsword. I'm pretty boring.

There's two approaches really. Ignore the spiders and try to quickly rush Rom down, or take things as slow as possible and kill all the spiders before Rom.

Even if you're doing the rush down approach, make sure you at least kill the first wave of spiders before Rom gains any ranged attacks. Don't forget to use lightning paper, I believe in you.

Played dark souls 1-3 and enjoyed each, dark souls 1 blew my mind when i played it but i got disappointed that they cut content on it and didn't properly finish it, so much lost potential

But that game is great at kicking you in the dirt and making you love it, when you finally get past an area you struggled with by learning the enemies attack patterns and proper timing it is so satisfying to finally breeze through the area

It really is satisfying exerting your mastery over an area that used to wreck you. That feeling of first going through an area, heavily relying on your shield, fat rolling, being so damned thankful and relieved when you finally made it to a new bonfire. And then now coming back naked with a katana flipping around killing everything effortlessly and breezing through the same area at sanic speed. So good.

No it'll never happen, I have a hard enough time doing things I'm actually good at anyway.

I really like the idea of a dark souls game where everything is permanent and you have a very high degree of control over everything you do, from your weapon's moveset to pulling a sword out of an enemy you stab

Ideally it would still have the same basic souls gameplay while completely shaking up the game for souls veterans. Like in the tutorial level it would give you an opportunity to backstab a big enemy but most players wouldn't know that you need to press r1 again to pull your sword out after you've backstabbed, and so you just stay like a dumbass with your sword stuck in this big monster's back, and then he picks you up and repeatedly smashes you in the ground and most players won't realize that he won't let go of you and stop smashing you unless you mash 1 and cut his hands to make him let go

take away health bars as well and have everything be based on visual damage with a heavy emphasis on targeting specific limbs/body parts or weak points like the stomach or head

The coolest thing would be the revamped strength weapons, the way levelling would work is that your character gets BIG every time you level strength so if you get 99 strength you'll have a giant towering mountain of a man. Strength playstyle would be completely different and require no dodging, only specially timed "braces" that would entirely remove damage taken from blocked attacks and have a reduced stamina cost to a normal block- but only if you time it correctly within a few frames

and then there would also be a specific window of a few frames in a heavy weapon's attacks where if you know the timing of an enemy's, like a big ass boss enemy you can clash with their swing. Basically what I want the system to be is so that strength characters in big heavy armor can go toe to toe with big bosses- but not just tank through attacks like in DS1, actually take timing/positioning and skill.
>>
>>36534667
Yep, the depths and blighttown were fun to put in their place, i hated those places, those god damn toxic darters that hid in the shadows, on high ground and behind walls of enemies

My favorite weapon was Ornsteins dragon slayer spear, i tended to go Cleric for the extra heal and lobbing thunder at people, the "free" lightning damage on a high reach weapon was neato for PvE, in PvP i tended to run like a bitch to the fog, if you see a nude guy wearing a mask wielding a two hander, run!
>>
>>36534758

>tfw you are an "idea man" fag

>>
>>36534758
I think most people who have put a lot of time into a souls game have their own idea of how they would have wanted to make a game like that. It's painful to think that you will live and die without creating a masterpiece enjoyed by millions of people, or anything even close to that. Life is painful.

>>36534767
I tend to do very well in pvp as far as invasions go. What matters most is your decisions in combat, far more than how much damage you can deal or take. Most twink invaders seriously underestimate their opponents, especially in Dark Souls 1 I think.

Not bad, anon.

It's been made free to individual interpretation. Downfalls and uprisings of kingdoms come and gone, firelinking diminishing each time in effectiveness, it's got a cycle theme etched to it that man tries to break. Haven't played the DLC of 3rd so my own interpretation is lacking but first game gives this feeling of men living on borrowed time where even their own humanity is diminishing in the wake of the oncoming Age of Dark. Cooperation and invasion giving humanity shows that it can be regenerated and plundered from everyone but by the third game it gets messy. Ashen one does not hollow unless branded with dark sigils. There's no humanity to plunder but you can be permanently human. It could possibly be that during the predetermined time of Dark hollowing takes place and when it should have been Age of Fire it does not, so Chosen Undead needs a new title to get manipulates/coerced into working with the characters and goes in as Champion of Ash.
>>
>>36535008
Thanks anon. You seem pretty nice.

>>36535118
That is mostly due to namco bandai's marketing efforts. Dark Souls is not an extraordinarily difficult game. It is challenging and fair generally, but you can use your head to make everything easier.

>>36535141

>>
>>36535333
The biggest hurdle in PvP is HA that heavy weapons get when 2handed. Unless you successfuly punish with a backstab or parry roll dash attack you're fucked against a smart player.
>>
>>36535333
which game has your favorite pvp?
>>
>>36535369
I don't think so. It's really more about smart punishes, positioning and spacing. RKUGS are not actually that difficult to beat. Weapons like that, gaels, splitleaf etc. are good because if you get hit by them, you're going to take huge combo damage.

>>36535398
I really like how you basically can't heal at all in Dark Souls II pvp because of how slow it is. Invasions were more satisfying in that game. I also like Demon's Souls no frills approach, no covenants, just invading. I dislike the covenants in general. I've probably had the most fun in Dark Souls III pvp though, as well as the most frustration.
>>
Since I bought a shadowplay-enabled graphics card for Dark Souls 3 I now have literally hundreds of gigs of footage of the game.

Do you think anyone would watch it if I put it on youtube? Most of it is fairly decent PvP seeing as I got steadily gudder at it over time. I have a terrible internet connection though so I'd have to upload overnight or some shit.
>>
>>36535444
>Do you think anyone would watch it if I put it on youtube?

It really depends more on your personal qualities, personality presentation editing etc. There's no shortage of good Dark Souls pvp footage so you'd need to bring something unique to the video.

As much as it goes tossed around, this is the reason I hate reddit. People think I'm just meming or a newfag trying to fit in when I say shit like reddit is cancer. Back in 2012 when Dark Souls was still a hidden gem there was a forum for it tbat I would frequent. It was great. We were essentially the wiki with added knowledge and would just talk about builds, lore, and random off topic shit for fun. They were a great lot those several people who were always on and the mods. Then almost overnight dark souls got big and the not long after the site got flooded. I started seeing so many horrible posts about such stupid shit.
>lol if people dont bow or gank I pull out my hacked crystal greatsword
>Hey guys that lore is wrong. Why? Just watch enb's video
>hahaha man this is the hardest game ever it pisses me off
You get the idea. Slowly I found out about reddit and found their dark souls community and my god. It was like a beating, bleeding, heart of autism. They were everything wrong from mindset to playstyle (hacks, mods, etc.). Not long after Dark Souls online went to shit across all platforms because of extensive hacking. Simultaneously the forum I loved was losing all the originals and people I liked to talk with. All because of some damn reddit community infecting shit with their cancer. This is way longer than I meant but my point is that the playerbase wasn't always cancer. It used to be one of the most comfy.
>>
>>36535454

I was thinking of putting some basic commentary subtitles in and just using the more interesting or funny matches. There's also a looooot of glitches and bugs that I could make a comp out of.
>>
>>36535459
The cancer is always there. What happens is that when something gets popular enough, the cancer reaches critical mass and congregates together. Reddit gives people like that a platform and place to meet and discuss the game, making it harder to find the good people as the pool is now diluted.

If you actually strip out the bullshit (the same stuff that plagues EVERY community of anything popular) I would say the Dark Souls community is actually quite good. I mean judging the gems of the Dark Souls community against another community, the Dark Souls community has good gems.

>>36535474
You'd probably get some views but I don't think you'd have much success without having a voice on your videos. Not that I'm saying I prefer that, I'm just saying that a lot of people do.
>>
>>36535459
even if reddit didn't exist, youtube still does. I tried DeS because my friend imported it when people were talking about it on /v/. the popularity of DaS is what killed it for me, the source doesn't really matter because when things get popular it's like flies to shit

I'm shit at DF but I just haven't tried to learn it. I've not heard of Nethack or I don't remember it, either or I'll be checking it out.
I was told once that Sif was weak to lighting or fire, one of them but the fucker would just spin attack me when I tried to get between his legs or jump away from my lightning. Pretty slow in my armor and I think making my claymore deal magic damage with refining fucked me over. Not willing to restart though, the taurus demon likes to run me off the bridge and I'd shit myself of I had to fight the sewer demon again. I got lucky and beat that nasty fucker in one try but I nearly died, wouldn't be able to suffer through that again. I also killed the guy who forgives your sins because I forgot what my conversation button was, fun times for me eh.
>>
>>36535802
Sif's attacks can break through the guard of a shield quite easily. If you are relying on blocking more than evasion an upgraded greatshield will make that fight much easier if you can get your hands on one. Magic claymore relies on your intelligence stat for damage. You could try sorcery on sif and try to kite him. If you don't have high intelligence and you're using a magic claymore unfortunately you have made a mistake and your damage will suffer.

>I've not heard of Nethack or I don't remember it, either or I'll be checking it out.
It's the best game ever if you like roguelikes.

I am conflicted about souls games. On one hand every single one is a masterpiece with only some noticeable problems ins DeS and DS2. On the other I can't bring myself to finish them because their atmosphere rebounds my depression. Especially DS1, shit was brutally sad.
>>
>>36535802
Sif is one of the easiest bosses. If you stay under him he can't hit you.
>>
>>36535845
The souls games have happy moments in their stories, they're often overlooked.

Don't forget about the personal triumph you yourself feel when you make it through something difficult. If the game is too depressing you can also switch it up with goofy pvp shenanigans and have a blast. Dark Souls has something for everyone. Of course I'm completely biased when I say that.
>>
>>36535863
You are not wrong, but I get so into the setting that any triumphant pride is overwhelmed by despair and hopelessness.

>>36535910
I understand. It may be that it simply isn't for you.

Personally I'm a very depressed and miserable person and the oppressive atmosphere resonates with me in a weird way. I've always found the games very comforting, precisely because of that depressive, dreadful atmosphere. It's a world of pain where good things can still happen. I get to go on an adventure where the pain is worth it, whereas my actual reality is stagnant.
>>
>>36535841
Yeah I fucked myself, I was going for a wanderer who could last long in battle but ended up funneling my souls into too many stats. Didn't know I needed int for my magic claymore though, I was just happy it dealt a tiny bit of damage when it was blocked. I think I had something akin to a tower shield though.
>>36535862
He wouldn't stay in one place long enough for me to get a hit on his legs. I tried using that light armor that looks like a ninja and he just destroyed me. I need my heavy armor but I can't keep up with him. I even went and killed the spider chaos bitch when I couldn't beat him or that trap filled fortress, that invasion by the Maneater woman scared me shit less because people would stab me in the back when I'd be looking at them dead on. Didn't go human once that started happening more.

I'd try again but I know it's just going to make me anxious. Thanks though fellows!
>>
>>36535955
>I'd try again but I know it's just going to make me anxious. Thanks though fellows!
I may catch flak for this but I think you should consider summoning another person to help you with Sif. Better to beat the boss with help rather than it be so disheartening that you don't want to play the game at all. Then after you progress further in the game, you'll probably develop the skill and game know-how to beat Sif alone on your next character. I don't think there's any shame in that.

Of course if you are up to it, you should try to beat it on your own. I believe in you.
>>
>>36535955
You must be just unlucky. Also fuck Sen Fortress, that place is evil. Don't give up, practice makes perfect. And eat some humanity - the npc invaders give you unique drops and they don't reappear if you miss them.
>>
Is it just me or every souls game is rushed towards the ending? The last few parts always seem (to a greater or lesser degree) to have sparse lore sources (no npc/little relevant description), rehashed enemies, is over very quickly, feels more gamey and less immersive etc. In case of DeS the major bosses were also a joke. Two playeresque characters, jumping puzzle, bigger version of a trash mob and one real boss.
>>
>>36535997
I tried that a few times but I always got invaded outside the fog and it would end up a showdown on the bridge and my assistant would just stand there and wait for me to fight. It happened an upwards of 10 times and I just said fuck it I'll go alone. That ended with me going to go find...qualag and traversing blight town. I tried helping others I'm pretty sure but I think the furthest i got with someone else Sif pinned him in a corner and killed him.
>>36536014
It is and it was mostly me getting hit and knocked off ledges that bothered me the most. I fucked that titanite demon up though because my claymore needed more fucking magic! My brain is telling me there were two on that bottom level but I think I only killed one. Also I have shit luck, if I didn't I'd have nailed Sif with my lighting and the butterfly wouldn't have beamed me in our first fight after I had like 1-2 hits left on that bitch. Felt bad for killing her though. Just remembered I skipped the hydra too, I remember some big beasts in the forest that I skipped too but I think you would fight them if you went the hydra route.
>>
>>36536119
I think part of the problem with Demon's Souls was that they were more ambitious than they could be. I'm sure they had something really cool planned for Dragon God for example but just couldn't get it into the game for whatever reason.

Dark Souls 1 does feel like they were running out of resources in some of the later parts of the game.

>>36536134
What system are you playing Dark Souls on? I can help you with Sif if you'd like.
>>
>>36536134
Butterfly surely had the best music. Btw you need to kill the hydra to get to the dlc.
>>
>>36536158
PC but I don't think I'll reinstall it, I'd have to delete shit to make space and I like not having my nerves racked. Because afterwards it's either I go to hell to fight the Capri demons guarding that pathway or the fortress, both of those are unpleasent.
>>36536186
>Butterfly surely had the best music. Btw you need to kill the hydra to get to the dlc.
It was pretty good I'll agree, if I go back and manage to down those stone giants without getting swarmed then I think the hydra will be easy.

I've had helicopters for a captcha but this time it's scoreboards you'd see at sports events. I don't know how to process this.
>>
>>36536244
> I like not having my nerves racked
That's understandable. I'd co-op the whole game with you if you wanted but the summoning is pretty unreliable in Dark Souls 1 unfortunately.
>>
I really like Dark Souls too OP. Demon's and Bloodborne too. I have The Fire Fades Edition on it's way to my house right now actually. Bloodborne is my favorite
>>
>>36536328
I love Bloodborne so much. I feel like I've played it to death but every couple of weeks I can't help but start a new playthrough. The world is so fantastic.
>>
>>36536340
The workshop is one of the most atmospheric places i've ever seen in a game. They absolutely nailed it. Everything about it is perfect. That theme and the fire link shrine theme in Dark Souls 3 are my favorite themes in the series
>>
>>36536310
It sure fucking is! Originally I tried it alone and didn't get anywhere. Afterwards a person I used to call friend said he'd go through it with me, I assumed this was going to be more akin to the later souls games but I ended up alone again for most of my playtime while just talking to him, which had stopped after I killed the sewer dragon. Thank you though, we will fight together in the next life for sure.

Oh I remember invading a world that had two people in full stone armor. When I got there the other invader walked off the cliff as I was spawning in, they just watched. It was pretty funny but the ass kicking that followed was even funnier because they shoved their stone shoes into my ass.

The Hunter's Dream is absolutely incredible. The whole game is really.

For some reason I've never liked the Dark Souls 3 Firelink Shrine as much as some of the other hubs. I think the Nexus is my favorite.

>>36536404
>Thank you though, we will fight together in the next life for sure.
That sounds nice to me.
>>
>>36536425
The Nexus is great. I think most of Demon's Souls is. I love the idea of returning to a safe haven after running around all these dangerous areas. Reminds me a lot of Resident Evil, with the Resident Evil Remake save theme being my favorite game theme ever. I actually really liked Majula too
>>
>>36536425
I dream quite literally of battle (don't let your dream combatant run a sword through you it fucking feels weird) so I can only hope that I get to live it after my next trip into the void of life. I'd enjoy everyone I've ever had some form of contact with to be there, if only for a moment or two so that we may rule not only dirt (earth) but unlife as well.
>>
>>36536478
Majula has always been my least favorite. I greatly prefer the hubs of Demon's and Dark souls because I like the way that NPCs come and go depending on what they're doing. They don't feel like places that revolve around you the player, but places that really fit into the world. With Majula and the Dark Souls 3 Firelink it seems more like a place where the npcs simply go to reside forever after you meet them, they just become tools to the player, which I dislike. I also really like the Hunter's Dream because it feels like a safe haven just for you, since no NPCs enter it during your playthrough. DS1 Firelink to me best captured the feeling of coming home after difficult travels, well up until you get the Lordvessel at least.

Sorry for autismo rambling
>>
>>36536478
not him but I love safe havens with peaceful music too, so relaxing to hide away from the danger outside
>>
>>36536488
>(don't let your dream combatant run a sword through you it fucking feels weird)
I have sex dreams of things like that happening all the time though. Dreamland is the only place I get to experience what I really long for.
>>
>>36536546
it's not autismo rambling. I see what you mean though. I just like the ancient, quiet town by the ocean. Dark Souls 2 just had weak npcs in general though. I also like the Hunter's Dream because of how personal it all felt. Finding the real ruined workshop after jumping to my death a thousand times was a surreal experience
>>
>>36536562
I try to spurn those because that means my body is trying to force an ejaculation, which if I can't wake up in time ends up messy.

The last dream enemy ran me through after I failed to break his arm with some backswing using my sword guard. I think I hit way too close to the arm pit but he fucking ran his sword through mine.
>>36536546
I think a living/vibrant world helps games to be more enjoyable.
>>
>>36536634
>just like the ancient, quiet town by the ocean
It is quite pleasant. I should say that while it isn't my favorite hub, it is still quite nice and fits well in Dark Souls 2, even with the weaker NPCs. I like how it feels walking into Majula for the first time on a new character. That calm and peace and rest before the journey. Thinking about it makes me want to boot up Dark Souls 2.

>Finding the real ruined workshop after jumping to my death a thousand times was a surreal experience
That was a standout moment. Every item there is important and so carefully placed. It took the world to another level for me.
>>
Anybody here massively dissapointed in dark souls 3? It was supposed to tie the loose points and provide a definitive ending but it felt more like dark souls remastered. Lots of pandering to fans of ds1 while not pushing the narrative forward in any meanigful name. Also So. Many. Plotholes. They contradict things they said in previous games and rework some background lore which considering how convoluted it was to begin with makes it a total bitch to get a grip on.
>>
>>36536752
>It was supposed to tie the loose points and provide a definitive ending
no it wasn't
>>
>>36536752
That's how I felt about Dark Souls 2, almost word for word. At least when it came out, I like it more now. I don't think referencing things is 'pandering' though, it is a sequel. I also think Dark Souls 3 handled the references more tastefully than 2. I think Dragonslayer Armour is done better than Old Dragonslayer for example. I hope you won't mind my difference of opinion.
>>
>>36536752
I constantly went between liking 3 and not liking it. Being able to fast roll in full plate armor immediately was the first thing that threw me off. The bosses were also disappointing. I beat most of them on my first try. Hell, some of the standard enemies are harder than the bosses. The catacombs and the blatant Demon's Souls dungeon copy were disappointing too. With that said, I have The Fire Fades edition on its way to my house, and I fully plan to play through the game again

I would've been disappointed if I'd expected anything, but I knew from the outset that it was just an obligatory cash-in and for that I was pleasantly surprised a bit.

Weapon arts are fun at least, and I'm enjoying this latest balance patch a lot. Especially with this baby.
>>
>>36536835
I don't think Dark Souls 3 is simply a cash-grab. I mean all video games that cost money are attempting to make money, that's how it is. The environments in Dark Souls 3 are beautiful and I imagine a lot of people worked really hard on realizing them. The music is beautiful. The designs are great, a lot of the bosses feel unique. I beat most of them on my first try as well, but I think that's more of a reflection of all the time I've spent in every previous souls game.

I'm not saying you shouldn't criticize the game, it certainly has its faults as all the souls game do. But that overt pessimism belongs more in the general I think.
>>
Who longsword masterrace here? First playthrough with each game in the series has been completely with the longsword. I try other weapons, but I always go back to it
>>
Has anyone here played Nioh? I started a week ago and haven't been able to go back to DS3 since and I dunno why. It's probably the combat.
>>
>>36536872
The thing is, it is a well made game. It is also the third and final installment in a series. It should be pivotal to the plot but feels like just a filler to keep the company running. It's good, but lacks the passionate storytelling of other games from fromsoft.

I got a PS4 just for Bloodborne. I'd recommend it. PS4 also has a bunch of other must try exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn and Persona 5.

If you have the money, do it.
>>

+1

It was a love letter to DS1. They tried at least.
From knows when to put things to a rest
>>
>>36536902
I got 30 hours into Nioh when I got distracted by Breath of the Wild. I then got distracted after 70 hours in BotW by Persona 5. Nioh was pretty good though. I'll get back to it eventually
>>
I think bloodborne ruined me. The game was too perfect. Every other game feels so mediocre now. I don't think I have a single complaint about it and I am a very critical person.
>>
>>36536901
I've always used the longsword in every game. It's always been my favorite weapon, it's just so reliable. It's my Dark Souls friend.

>>36536902
I've never tried it. I can't get over the fact that you can't create your own character. If I can't play as a girl I lose interest in a game. It's petty I know, but it's how I am.

>>36536908
I understand where you're coming from but I personally don't feel that way. Dark Souls 1 felt very grounded, it was made larger than itself by the emotions you feel during the course of the game. Everything in Dark Souls 3 feels more 'epic' or trying to one up the previous entries which I dislike. I do like the storytelling in 3 though, I like that they show what happened to a lot of the previous characters and places. I like that they revealed missing pieces of lore that were previously unexplained. I don't think a grand finale would be fitting for Dark Souls.
>>
>>36536943

Trash.
>>
It's almost 5 am so I'm going to sleep now. Thanks for keeping me company /r9k/, it meant a lot to me.
>>
>>36536965
I can understand that. Usually the first character I make in a game is a female followed by a male, but I had no qualms with Nioh's lack of character creation due to the fact that it's tied to the story and pretty decently based off true events. As true as you can get when you add demons to the equation.
>>
>>36536989
>claymore
it's a Zweihander
>black knight shield
it's a silver knight shield

Have you ever played dark souls, anon?
>>
>>36536902
I like Nioh, but it feels like it is getting progressively easier. The in depth weapon smithing seems pointless too. I never had any trouble just using random gear that i found. I think the game would've been a lot better if it had been more Ninja Gaiden and less Dark Souls and Diablo
>>
Anyone else consider themselves a relatively hardcore Souls fan but never play the DLC? I play the fuck out of them right when they come out and never really feel the desire to replay them. Only exception was the very first Dark Souls DLC.
>>

What I wouldn't give to go back to when Demon's Souls was new and I just started playing it. I had never even heard of the pre-release hype, just hopped on when I saw /v/ talking about it. Fucking amazing experience. I can't even imagine it now, this crazy ass game you've never heard of that will surpass every expectation you have. My life is shit compared to a video game send help.
>>
Dark souls 3, did they turn the poise back on or is it still kids with fist weapons and daggers invading you?
>>
>>36537185
Just ignore pvp. It was a fun idea but then you realize people are shit and will just exploit the cheapest available path for a quick endorphin rush victory.

You know what is the success of souls games? They are Zelda for adults. Literally. The more you look at it the gameplay is almost identical. They cashed in on people who loved games like that but yearned for more mature settings.

>>36537381
DS3 is the worst game. It's linear, it has terrible enemy placement and design that makes nearly every encounter tedious, pvp is fucking awful because the person that stands still the longest wins, and they ignored the things that DkS2 did right like letting you infuse nearly everything, hexes being their own thing, powerstance, left hand weapons attacking instead of blocking, etc.

I am obscenely triggered by this image. I the course of a playthrough five summons is about the limit. >>36537775
SOTFS is objectively a great game, don't listen to the naysayers. It lacks the atmosphere of the others but PVP is the strongest, weapon variety and viability is the best, the DLC is excellent and in SOTFS only, there's a nice wrap up to the whole thing dependent on doing all the extra areas before the last boss.

Enemy placement is a bit different in the original, but the alterations are all improvements IIRC.
