What kind of "good" motivation is there to rob a convencience store, a bank, etc.? By "good" I don't mean morally just, I mean logically sound reasoning and/or motivation that would truly justify such an act.
The chance of being caught is fairly high, the payout is not insanely high, and it is quite difficult to judge what people will do when put in that position. You never know what clerk is packing heat.
I'm genuinely curious. Also, I'm looking for reasons besides being a kleptomaniac, psychopath/sociopath, wanting to get back into prison, etc.
>TL;DR: Why commit rob?

desperation might be a thing, although many store robbers might not be desperate for the right things.
Drug habits, a kid, family, injured loved one
all of these things and more can fuel a robbery
Being plain stupid and/or a nigger helps with overlooking those problems.
There is also the "I need money for my /whatever/ RIGHT NOW" kind of desperation that makes you simply ignore those facts, even if you know them. For the fix or the life of your kid, you'll put sane reasoning aside.
