How did the normie invasion of /r9k/ occur? They have almost completely taken this board over/
Perhaps this is the normies getting their revenge after /r9k/ slandered them for so many years.

reddit, not even memeing, it's reputation also brought in "cyborgs" and other normies who think they have it bad

Thats why it happened
>>36521073
Ever seen that Parks & Rec scene where Ron goes to a Whole Foods or whatever and he just people watches because it's like a zoo?
That's what 4chan is for us. You're weird, disgusting animals, but it's interesting to watch.

How old is this pic? I don't go on reddit, so I don't know.

It's probably bait but this got me genuinely angry

shit here comes their king
>>36521454
This exactly. Sometimes when things don't go right it's such an ego boost to be able to go by r9k and say "at least I'm not like this"
>>36521510
Not bait. Sorry you're upset. Just genuinely how I think of 4chan.
>>36521587
Oh yeah the superiority complex is a HUGE reason I come here.

But that doesn't make sense since this place is 80% normalfag now.

1 in 5 is still more robots than most places

Imagine if you go to a zoo, and there are mostly people watching 1 chimp doing nothing and sitting around
That's how you sound like
It was a series of events. Perhaps some already moved in during the refu/tv/ee period in late 2013 and early 2014. I'm not sure but I think that's also the time when /r9k/ adopted Smug Pepe from /tv/. That's the meme that then became the symbol of this board and normalfags fell in love with, although it didn't really become widely used on /r9k/ until summer of that year. In late May 2014, the Elliot Rodger thing happened and some people made the connection to /r9k/, because he was more or less like many people here (kissless and friendless virgin with autism and horrible social anxiety). Then Normegg came here and talked about "the Black Pill" and made YouTube videos about the concept. However, I'm not sure how much effect that had. On July 30th, 2014, the robot filter was turned off and plenty of people came here from other boards, probably most of them from [s4s]and /b/. Many of those stayed. Other mid-to-late 2014 events that attracted people here were Gamergate, Fappening, Snappening, and celebrities using Pepe. The last of those started the "poo poo pee pee" meme, which normalfags found funny. Around the same time, manchild generals that consisted of parody stories of robots became more popular when someone got the idea to include chicken tenders to the story (this was probably inspired by a "Pepe and Wojak are friends" comic where Pepe orders the food for him and his friend). The name of the food was shortened to "tendies". Reddit, of course, thought that name and the stories were hilarious, and named the 4chan subreddit to 4tendies for some time. Needless to say, more people migrated to this place. Then the rare Pepe market exploded in late March 2015 and the news spread to mainstream internet. The final nail in the coffin was probably the Oregon shooting which took place on October 1, 2015 (coinciding (?) on 4chan's birthday). Nothing could be done anymore to prevent normalfags from coming to /r9k/. Even turning the robot back on (Oct 24, 2015) didn't help.

Now that I look at that graph again, I see there already was a slight upward trend in late 2012. That was when this board started to become worse (but in my opinion was still pretty good until early 2013). I don't know what started the increase in activity.
