Is this basically "r9k's dreams" the movie? >Protagonist doesn't fit in and is a loser, then gets sucked into strange world and has a qt girl fall for him with no effort of his own. He saves the world basically without trying (and still being incompetent). In this end, he leaves this world and goes to one with his gf where everyone loves him. He sacrifices nothing but gains everything.
Isn't this what we all want?

It's formulaic as all fuck. Entertaining in parts ("Have you ever been to Florida?") but when your villain is more entertaining and engaging than all your protagonists save for Peregrine herself, you got a bit of a problem
