Prior to the porn, /b/ was more about being a general free topic board. You'd see "dubs decides" threads, drawthreads, discussion threads, shitposting threads, etc. Just a good mix of everything. /r9k/ on the other hand was more greentext based and had a younger tone (around high school - college)

After the porn, /b/ is well, just that, porn. /r9k/ is gay with trap shit and fetish stuff all over the place. Hardly any real discussion.

there's no consistent threads on /r9k/ that are there to appease furshits desu

I'd tend to side with you as of late for sure. I notice though (as you said more highschool / college/ just working but in 20's) that /r9k/ is at it's best during the summer and winter.

My favorites stories and boards are always around christmas.

this place actually looks way different from /b/ now. they actually used to be much more similar.

/r9k/ went downhill for sure, but /b/ is literally unusable. it's all the same fucking porn threads over and over again. that's what it fucking is.

in theory what separates this place from /b/ is mostly
>more OC greentext stories (these used to be big deals. now it's just small-time)
>weird imaginary identity of "robot" that everybody has to subscribe to for legitimacy
>no rolling threads, no porn dumps, every image has to have original text and people get pretty tired of making up fake text to fool the robot for 100 images
and the big one
>less people so it moves slower
the only reason there is any sense of continuity in community here is because threads don't immediately 404

sometimes i can make a popular thread, go to bed, wake up, and it's still getting replies. that's sorta cool and completely undoable on /b/
