Almost anyone can become a magic user in negima (Sure they need a lot of training, but they can), there are some exceptions like Takamichi T. Takahata, but everyone can become a ki user, it takes more time and it tires your body a whole lot more, but everyone can do it.

Pokemon universe.

A hundred bucks buys me a small orb, that with hard work and dedication, and some animal husbandry, could be the first step to becoming a champion of beast combat.

Most of the population in HxH don't know about Nen at all, the series just focuses on those that do.

Additionally, it's a pretty brutal universe with people dying etc. Hunters can literally get away with murder and everyone is semi-sociopathic. The hunter exam is a perfect example of that, even the "good guys" didn't bat an eyelid when someone who didn't do anything wrong died horribly during it, which many did.

All in all the HxH universe seems like a horrible place to live unless you're born into a hunter family and trained from birth.

is everyone a weak beta in the animu universe though? for example, in those shonen anime, usually no one gets killed save for the final bosses or something. any kind of adult anime I would obviously not survive in, so scratch all them off. I would probably pick the pokemon universe and bring an unprecedented amount of brutality with me. as far as I know, there is no killing in the pokemon universe, but I would change that.

there are no immediate humanity/world destroying threats and you can get by even if you're a nobody, choose your own adventure with many different careers to pick and choose what you wanna be, you can make pokepals and nakama, get lucky finding rare pokemon or devil fruits, and you don't have to be anyone unique or special to have a good fucking adventure
