used to play it all the time. no items, 4 stock, super serious. never got good at tech stuff like wavedashing or l-canceling tho. haven't touched it in 10 years, but still watch all the major tourneys.

i sometimes like to imagine i got with a group of friends who were really into it and somehow lead me to going to local tourneys before it got big and became a pro player. oh well.

I used to play /maylay/ until i got completely burnt out and got sick of the game and switched to sm4sh. my mewtwo and marth were pretty fucking clean if i do say so myself. won a couple local tournies and shiet. pretty fun times. i have a fond memory of it.

I went to a tourney once at a game crazy before they closed, my little brother got to be my opponent at the last match so I let him win, but they didn't give him a real prize because he wasn't a member of the stupid game crazy club. He was pretty cold as falco,my fox was lazy but we had some great matches as marth vs Roy.

Melee is shitty and is pure autism.

I was on the Melee bandwagon for so long, practicing all the time, going out to local tournaments, the works. I was never amazing at the game, but I was decent enough to always win a couple matches when I went to tournament. I got burned out though and realized I was buying into a meme. I still loved the idea of Smash Bros. but what the community turned Melee into is some kind of Frankenstein. I just got tired of it.

Since I was big into Melee I was deep into the Brawl hate brigade but after getting tired of Melee I decided to give Smash 4 a shot since, as mentioned above, I still love the general idea of Smash.

I never looked back. I don't know if the game is actually better or if it was just because it was something fresh for me, but I fell in love with Smash again. I also really enjoy the fact that I don't have to break my hands just to be decent at the game. The game just feels more pure to me. I really came to despise what the community turned Melee into.

which smash are you trying to git gud at? Melee is the only one worth playing. here's a quick run down

>download 20xx training pack
>watch all the tutorials on youtube about the basic and advanced techniques
>practice against level 1-3 computers for a bit until you get familiar with it
>install netplay and get your shit pushed in
>go to your local tourneys and play friendlies (this will help you improve the most)
