I do enjoy mine. Sometimes the schedule sucks, like if I have to close one night and open the next day, or if my days off aren't sequential. Also right now we have a serious "too many cooks" problem in my department, so it's annoying having daytime manager expect one thing, supervisor expecting another, closing manager expecting another... Any thirty-something ITT working dead-end jobs?

I get paid like ten bucks an hour to do shitty work typically associated with zit-faced teenagers just starting out, and here's the kicker -- I've been doing it for like ten years. Granted when I started I was getting paid six bucks an hour so I've been getting raises and all, I just don't see myself going anywhere in the company. It probably doesn't help that everyone I work with sees me as some kind of antisocial retard man-child. Not far from wrong, but then I make a much better impression on clientele than co-workers, as clients often say I'm clearly too intelligent and friendly to be working such a crap job. Familiarity, contempt, etc.

Plot twist: I make more money doing this than I would in a majority of more "respectable" jobs elsewhere where I live, where minimum wage is considered regular and just having a job is a sign that you're some kinda lucky.

So it's like I'm somewhere between being a loser and doing alright for myself, by degrees.

I've never had to borrow money from family or anyone really, and even if I make shit money I can still afford my own apt. without needing a roommate and make just enough to save around $100-200 dollars a month depending on how careful I am about expenditures.

By turns I feel depressed and useless and far from grown-up and other times like everything really ain't so bad.

It's a weird fucking place to be.

Janitor here, I do the floors exclusively since my boss doesn't want to walk and everyone else somehow manages to fucking smash the scrubber into at least one thing a night when they try, so I get floors and they get bathroom duty every time I work. So yeah, I don't mind my job at all. I don't have to talk to anyone, I take my lunch breaks in the employee bathroom laying on the heat-stealing tiles. Nightshift, no customers, no bullshit, and I get like 12 bucks an hour cuz i've been there forever and they don't want me to quit since normies hate nightshift stuff. Should I get a fairly large studio ( 450 sq. feet ) that I can walk around in easily for $675/mo?

after you get paid more than minimum wage you realize it's actually dogshit pay that you can't live off of

I used to work a lot of retail and as a gas station clerk. I don't make too much more money now but the jobs are a lot more bearable. Here are some easy options for you guys:

1. Lifegaurding - As long as you are in mediocre shape, you can go to your local pool and practice swimming for a couple weeks and you will be able to pass the test and get your certification. There are always lots of lifegaurding jobs and I can make sometimes double minimum wage. Esspecailyl nice if you work at a pool that no one goes to. I spent probably over 50% of my work hours play my 3ds

2. English teacher - you don't even have to get your TESL to do it. You can find part time jobs online teaching chineese kids enlgish by helping them do interactive educational games. I'm working on getting in to this right now.

3. Military - Dont have to do full on combat. Join the reserves, where deployment is voluntary less a massive war breaks out. Gets you in shape, can get you good training (like how to fix vehicles) and the pay is decent.
