I bought Dracula last week. I enjoyed it but it felt weird that they killed off some literal who at the end and expected me to care.
A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and some Agatha Christie novel.
I don't really like Agatha's style now that I've grown up but I still read her from time to time, out of nostalgia and to feel comfy.
Seconds, Bryan lee o'malley. It was actually a graphic novel, but an actual book was Battle Royale. Shame I'll never meet a girl like Hazel.

I bought a book that I thought would be an overview of Baltic peoples from prehistory up to about the end of the Northern Crusades. There's very few sources about this topic (Livonian Chronicle of Henry, Scandinavian sagas, couple of Roman historians) and a small compilation of these would make a lot of sense and could be pretty great.
Turned out to be a bunch of WE WUZ ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS AND SHIEEET, with the author basically replacing Indo-European with the word Baltic and treating sanskrit sources saying that ancient Indians (which are also Balts in his mind) had mastered interplanetary travel as legit. Then after that he goes over early European history because hurr durr they're all Balts.
Fucking disappointing, felt a fair share of second hand embarrasment. Maybe it gets better in the end - I've read about 60% of the book.
"The Children of Hurin" by J.R.R. Tolkein
