My dad freaks out about me drinking a bottle of spirits every weekend. The internet taught me that I am far from an alcoholic. I don't see myself allowing myself to drink more than a liter a week. I have bad genetics so I really shouldn't be playing with fire. I like drinking vodka since it's the most flavorless. I shoot it straight. Today I bought whiskey instead for whatever reason. Whiskey makes me gag, but I'm still gonna drink the whole bottle within these 24 hours.

I have a shot or two of hard alcohol once every few months. You might want to cut back, or find a less destructive vice.

being an alcoholic has more to do with how alcohol affects your life and less to do with the volume that you consume (although that is a factor as well).

today is currently my 9th day sober after drinking, and getting drunk, nearly everyday since 2009. you may want to quit for a while before it becomes a huge issue. how does your drinking affect your life or the people in it?

No. If you feel like you HAVE to drink you're an alcoholic. If it's affecting your life negatively, you're an alcoholic. If you resent the fact you drink so much, or say you will cut back/quit but keep failing, you're an alcoholic. I drink 3-4 1.75L bottle of bottom shelf liquor every week with diet soda. Am over 300 pounds and probably have the beetus.

I was drinking 10+ drinks a night this time last year and my current average is 6 a night, so at least I'm going in the right direction. I'm so fucking sick of being hungover and feeling like shit in the morning.
