you have to approach it correctly tho, if you don't fully believe your understanding that your odds are actually 50/50, then they'll be subject to the actual probability of the lottery which is pretty low.

Depends on the numbers you're using. I've played the lottery quite a few times throughout my life, generally when it's a jackpot with the thinking, "someone's got to win it."

I'm presently at 0:100 in terms of jackpots and non-jackpots.

Disturbingly, I've found as my life steers further and further away from my ideal situation I find myself playing the lottery more often than I would. I used to make fun of my mother for playing the lottery so frequently, but I guess for the majority of the population you just reach a point where you're so desperate for a way out that 76,767,600:1 seems like reasonable odds.
