A lot of people hit the mark in the thread for why women are attracted to taller guys.
I'm sure its different for every one, but I prefer height on a male because it really does feel that little bit more secure. From just walking around with, to even cuddling, something about them makes you feel safer. Cuddling with a tall person feels pretty comfier too as well, being completely surrounded and made to feel small yet secure at your most vulnerable is another one of those weirdly hot things.
As far as biology goes, usually tall people are fairly strong as well and physical power is inherently going to be attractive to women because biology, the same as ample breasts and ass, indicators of good genes and fertility will be to men. I'm also sure there's some psychology shit in here as well about replacement fathers, always seeing you father as taller and replacing that or whatever.

This all being said though, in would like to reiterate that just because being taller, is seen as more attractive, it does not mean that it is a prerequisite to be attractive. Its just an asset.
