Do you think you would have turned out different if you had a mentor?
Yes.
I had to teach myself everything, and I did it too late.
Nope had three mentor. Still turn out like shit.

Funny you should mention that. I've just binge watched Karate Kid 1-3 and was imagining how cash shit would have been if I had a Mr. Miyagi in my life.

I actually just wish I had a loving and supportive dad instead of a mentor

I remember putting an ad on craigslist when I was about 15 looking for work with my phone number. I got a call from some very creepy guy asking me if I'd like to have a mentor. He lived way out of my town but offered to pay for my ticket and board.pretty sure he wanted to rape me though

Probably.
Everything I learned was from tv, music, magazines, books, films, documentaries, newspapers, and movies. [I'm not mentioning internet cause I never had it or access to it until like two years ago, I'm in my twenties]
My soft-mind could of used some actual guidance and human interaction.
Yes. My father gave up on me when I was 6, maybe even before. Mother just provided basic needs but never prepared me for the real world.
If I had someone to guide me, I would've turned out just great. Managed to land really strong friendships though

Right in the feelerinos
Sort of. If I had another adult to turn to in my childhood, I probably wouldn't be as fucked up as I am now. Lots of conflict in my household growing up which made me develop some really bad anxiety issues from an early age.
