Small towns are better. Don't be a cunt or spread drama of any kind, because social circles are smaller than you think, etc.

Remember how important community is, and that unlike a city nearly everyone is connected in a small town. Don't burn any bridges. People are generally kind in return if you first prove yourself, even if they seem cold at first often it's just a reluctance to open to outsiders.

Don't push anything though, word gets around fast if people start to think of you as that annoying cityfag who won't leave them alone.

DO NOT date women from the same small town you live in, it's just a dramafest waiting to happen. Date outside your town.

At 8000 people you'll probably run into people a good bit if you go out often enough. But unless you're going to the same place pretty often, they won't really notice you as much.

There was this one time I was walking around in my town and ran into the same person 3x at once. Kinda funny. But that was with a population of four thousand.

Side note, don't forget to account for other small or larger towns spread about around you. People tend to travel between towns so you will have non locals there if this is applicable.

If you don't have a car that gun will come in handy because you'll want to fucking kill yourself. I live in a small town. The bus service is shit and I'm working towards buying a car. I feel trapped here.

My job / the city is 12 miles away. Anything I could bike to isn't worth biking to in the first place. There's nothing to fucking do here.

Drug usage is common in small towns because everyone is poor and has nothing to do. If you make friends with anyone under 30 you will inevitably find the drugs.

I've lived in bit cities and small towns. I currently split time between my folk's house in the mountains and drive to Denver (2 hour commute) once a week to work on my masters.

Advantages of small town:

>outdoor lovers dream
>Hiking, biking, gun shooting, etc
>good local brewery
>quiet and beautiful

Disadvantages

>You can go a bit crazy from the quietness
>Hardly any young people and those that are here are crusty cunts
>no women (not that it really matters for robots)
>rednecks. Not that I don't like or get along with them, but some of them are deliverance tier and scary
