KILL ME PLEASE
>>36297322
that sounds comfy what are you researching OP?
>>36297470
algorithms in bioinformatics (comparing dna)
Question OP: Did you actually want to get a PhD or are you just "buying time"?

I didn't feel I was qualified enough to go to the industry which is why I went into graduate school, then I felt even worse and now I am doing a phd
it's like an endless loop

So you majored in biology or CS?
I am trying to not fall for the graduate school meme although its very tempting. Might be able to submatriculate and get a MS at the same time as the BA. No thesis required. Althuogh its a long shot because of shit grades.

I majored in CS but had an interest in medicine from when I was a child, so I like problems in biology especially those related to analyzing evolutionary data
you learn a lot in graduate school, but it takes too much time and you are very busy all the time...
I suggest you go for a masters where you can get an idea of what research is all about, and if you don't like it, then don't go for a phd...
I like research but sometimes I hate the fact that it takes so much fucking time....

the master's program at my school for CS has little to do with research and it top 10 ranked.
I am only gonna pursue the master's because, long story short, the CS department isn't letting me take more than a watered down version of the major consisting of the core CS curriculum plus 5 electives. I want to take more interesting courses.
