I'm not the biggest 80s synthpop fan but The Chauffeur by Duran Duran is one of the best songs ever written in my opinion.
Shoegaze is pretty robot-tier, niche genre with depressing lyrics and melodies and hazy, dreamy soundscapes. Same with dream pop. Try Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Bowery electric, Adorable, Alison's halo, Catherines wheel, early The verve. Also chillwave, one of the least known artists of the genre, Millionyoung, has many great tracks, especially his cover of Satie's Gymnopedie 1. Oh, and Satie himself

This and only this.
Not only are the Hotline Miami games practically made for robots with the inclusion of characters like Richter and Beard, the soundtrack for both games, as well as the respective artists are absolutely remarkable.
Richter is pretty robot tier IMO and is my favorite character in the series, second only to Beard, who I imagine as a loyal friend and super chill stoner.
My personal favorite track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiUYFZXy_zc

All of Perbutrator's and Carpenter Brut's tracks are awesome. Particularly Future Club, Sexulaizer, Miami Disco, Roller Mobster, and Le Perv.
El Huevo's tracks are generally awesome as well but are sadly underrepresented. Daisuke and Rust were what sold HM 1 and HM 2 for me.
M|O|O|N|'s tracks are utter shit accept for Dust and Hydrogen and to this day, I don't see why his tracks are so well liked.
