It feels to me as if racing games don't age very well and outside of nostalgia feels it won't be a great experience in 2017.

Yes I in fact have.
Visually it aged, car models etc.

But the feel of driving is fucking gorgeous even today, you can feel the friction and traction when turning. OST is fucking top tier and the atmosphere is just... heavenly. I know this screams nostalgia but I think its still genuinely a good game.
