I'm not a capeshit fan but Nolan's Batman films and that new Wolverine film were decent.

They are easy to understand, shallow but "safe" entertainment with no unpleasant surprises, and they are innocuous enough to be an unintrusive background event to meet up with FRIENDS and be social.

On top of that, they give them a small, but controlled (i.e. doesn't make you a weirdo) feel of individuality by consuming a theoretically niche product that, again, is still socially "safe" because it's actually mass-consumed.

Don't even dislike them, I often go to this kind of movies with friends, but they're obviously an excuse to meet up without needing to give much thought to the actual movie. They're bland and usually never bad enough for anybody to hate them.
