I want to motor swap my first personal car.
Catch is, i don't have one, and it'll probably be a rolling shell to make things easier on myself. i'd swap a junkyard ls/t56, wiring i'd do megasquirt.
I'm not completely inexperienced, ive done simple shit, and a friend has understeered into a curb and broke basically his whole wheel assembly, cv axel.. control arms.. knuckle and needed me to get what was still attached off until he gets parts.

Any east coast drivers? I kind of want to drive out of state (NY) for a weekend but I don't know what would be a reasonable distance for only 2 days. Also, I fantasize about visiting a nice quiet roadside diner in the middle of night and just falling asleep in a booth, or visiting a nice little town with a main street that has all its residents walking up and down to visit the shops.

Driving is awesome. It doesn't matter what time is it, what weather, or if i'm going to be cruising or hooning. Driving always makes me feel better. God i wish gas was cheaper.

the reason i'd go for ls more than anything else is it's the one motor ive gained some sort of knowledge about more than any either one, not to mention bang for your buck power. megasquirt is just the easiest and cheapest ecu option from there, not to mention i can just throw in a decent tune from sloppy wiki.
i want upgradability too, i wouldn't really know where to start with a 350 beyond cam whereas the same ls block could last me to the point where im looking for very serious power if i get there.

Carbed motors are the most dirt easy modding you can do, and have endless aftermarket to do it with. If you aren't taking the time to uprate injectors and mapping a tune to new cam profiles, you might as well stick with a carb. You can always throw on a fogger or water/meth either way, but a decent vacuum operated 4bbl carb is going to give you 80% of the performance for pennies on the dollar, and a glut of new old stock on Craigslist.

I kinda like driving but assholes ruin it. Everyone in my city drives slow af. The rule is 10 over right? They usually go 5 below or lower. No idea why. There's also a lot of tourists or something that drive though my city and they stop randomly to look at buildings. Real fucking annoying.

I don't like long drives though. Anything over an hour and it's awful.
