I'm 32 and didn't have my first phone until I was like 27 and it was a blackberry but now I have a Samsung S-something and it's not all that hard to use if you can use a regular computer imo.

Anyways, whoever sold you the phone should have explained it all to you.

I'm 33 myself. I used /r9k/ regularly from about early 2011-present, though I am a bit less frequent these days. Around the days of Umpqua-Eggman I though I'd cool it around here, but I still visit regularly.

It's not so much that the thing is hard to use (although I did have frustration about the camera function just now, admittedly). I just hate normieslutphones on general principles. I suppose that I associate them with ugly old women too, since that's who I see using these things most frequently.

I can remember the old days here when people-or-maybe-just-that-one-autist would regularly start threads about not owning a cell phone, not having facebook, etc, and serious replies could be expected. This is all but impossible now.

Look into consumer cellular, you can get a plan for like 25 a month even cheaper if you dont want data. I work for a company that sells it and it's pretty good if you make sure they put you on at&t towers instead of t mobile. You can even get a flip phone gramps

A phone is just a tiny computer. Learn it, play around with it, us it to your advantage

I use it to play games and beat off to porn while I'm sitting on the toilet, I rarely ever use it as an actual phone.

When we were kids a phone and a computer were heavy-ass things that had a room to stay in and didn't go anywhere unless you were moving all your other stuff. If you wanted to take pictures you would have to squint through a tiny glass hole and press a mechanical button in the hopes that the picture didn't come out all fucked up, take more pictures to fill up the reel, and then send it to a store to have it developped vernight.
