Went to see that with my cousin and dad but movie was with subtitles (I'm a spic) so my dad had to read the subs for me and my cousin. It helped that we were alone at the cinema because it was like 1 a.m.

1992 here, I guess I was a 90s kid (I actually just remembered: its often said that 1992 was the last year that one could be born and still call themselves a 90s kid).

However, my pre-teen life was during this time so I remember basically all of this. I miss Danny Phantom and Invader Zim, Rugrats All Grown Up was dope as well

Urban Legends.

I remember hearing all sorts, Purple Aki, werewolves in the woods, a shiny charizard card ripped up near the skate park.

You and a group of neighbour hood kids would go out and look for this shit, or find some fun thing to do.

And two of those were real. The pokemon card and Aki.

The 90's has a sense of adventure that today hasn't. But perhaps that the rose tinted glasses speaking.

I don't see kids playing out on the street anymore like I used to as a kid.

There's a huge difference between growing up with the awesome PS2/Gamecube and growing up with the casualized piles of shit known as the Wii and PS3.

Stop lumping 2001-2006 in with 2006-2009. 2001-2006 was awesome. 2006-2009 sucked monkey penis.

And I still feel like a kid who never got to experience the true classics, such as the c64 and the amiga.

>playing WoW with your friends

God damn, I miss those days so much. I still remember the last day me and my friends played together. One of my friends had a psycho mom who was a therapist, and she thought playing WoW would destroy her sons life.
>>
>>36168939
I like all of that besides the shit in the bottom right. Didn't know what it was until I scroll through the thread.

My grandfather was a jazz, blues and sometimes reggae listener so that's what I liked then. He also got me into classical then so hey, that's a win. Guess he's the only thing I actually miss though. And my innocence but my father beat that out of me then beat me until I blacked out. I can still see my outstretched hand reaching for the help that never came.

Someone kill me. Please.
>>

My bad meant bottom left. Had two playstations (the disk reader broke in my sisters, got blamed for it) and later she got a ps2 that the entire extended family would use at our grandparents. It's still there too, works great! We even have a super Nintendo that works!

hell yeah, PS2 is the GOAT console made by Sony
>>
>>36171229
The myspace era, and other social medias, before it was the biggest normie thing. When it was more about connecting with strangers online and you'd use it to flirt with emo girls and people would flirt with you back and hit on you and stuff and for the first time you were complimented by girls and hit on and stuff.

Sometimes you'd get some light lewdity and such and all the conversations you had about your teen problems and all the catfish you'd get where you could just catch them out with their "broke webcams" and constant requests for you to take your shirt off.

I wonder what they're all doing now.
>>
>>36171625
>hell yeah, PS2 is the GOAT console made by Sony
But that super Nintendo has Galiga and some super Mario game cartridge with I think 5 different Mario games. Personally I think it was the best. Oh we still have star fox for it too! I'm about to cry from the memories of fox's dad.
>>
>>36171246

How the fuck do you remember shit from when you're 7? I mean I do remember it but not that vividly.

Born in 1990, not as old as some on this board but seeing "nostalgia" from the 2000s is kind of fucking stupid to be completely honest. This is shit I was into when I was 12-13, so basically it should only be "nostalgic" for someone who was old enough to remember it. However I don't hold such a loving view of the 2000s at all, everything turned to shit after 9/11.

The true nostalgia is the pre-9/11 era which was undoubtedly GOAT.

Yeah the birth of Smartphones and wifi killed it. >>
>>36173591
Yeah 2005 and 2006 was the best internet era because it was pre-normie invasion but you still had pretty decent speeds and more accessibility and such. Also around 2004 - 2006 was when a lot of the younger people, so people around your age at the time hopped on the internet and they were usually also robots and so places got active with people who were similar to you.

Although this isn't a part of the 2000 culture i miss this part the most. It seems even the outside world has gotten shittier over the years. Today's kids will never know the joys of going outside to stay out unsupervised till dark, only stopping by your house for lunch and to re hydrate and getting home incredibly tired but knowing you had the best day of your life and that the adventure continues tomorrow. Every kid i see in outside these days is either with a parent or holding a fucking smartphone.

Talks to his peers through discord and even has more friends than me yet they rarely ever meet in person and mostly socialize by playing roblox. At first i was worried that behavior from me and tried to sway him from the r9k lifestyle but they're all like that. Magic of childhood. Imagine all the post 9/11 fear madness of the early 2000s, then recession hell and the dead economy of the late 2000s. You could escape that due to childhood blindness. Even if you were a teenager in the late 2000s you didn't have responsibility so you didn't feel the hit of the recession.

They were still bad times, they just didn't affect you at that point as you were a kid.

I liked it better than the 90s X-men. I think because each season had its own story arc and there was development while X-men was more your typical 90s cartoon where you could just watch any episode and so you didn't need to follow along.

Also more of my favourite characters were part of the main cast.

I don't consider myself a le 90s kid (born 1994), I'm more like an 00s kid, but the thing I liked about 2001-2006 is that it combined the best of the pre-social media part of the 21st century with the leftovers of the 90s.

All of the memorable 90s shows kept airing up 'till ~2006 and things like Heelys were still a thing up until about 2006 as well.

I think once you're after 12 you're not longer a 'kid' of that era. So if you were 13 by 1990 you're not a 90s kid, if you were 13 by 2000 you weren't a 2000s kid, if you were 13 by 2010 you're not a 10s kid.

If you were like 10 by 2000 then you can say you were both a 90s kid and a 2000s kid as you experienced your childhood during both of those years. 13 - 18 is more a "teen" e.g. 90s kid but 2000s teen.

After that everything sucked,
14, prime hormones. Moving to another city.
talking to my goth-lite girlfriend over msn and watching clips of inyuasha together because she thought our romance was the same, we knew we wouldn't be together after the move, just enjoying those late nights of endless summer. Playing just cause 2 late into the night alone in a white room with a bed, because everything else was in the moving truck. Those messages between me and her late at night as were lying in bed, the cool light of the computer lighting the room as I drifted to sleep. By next week I was across the country, and the house was bright and sunny for mid summer, but I felt like something had died in me, and I have never again felt as comfy as those nights. Miss you Christina.
