the key is to listen to what they're saying. Don't think too much about what you'll say next because you'll tune out the person who's talkign to you and it'll be obvious, and NEVER wait for the "right time" to say something that pops into your head, it almost always never comes, and once they finish it'll just be this awkward silence because you've both not been listening and have nothing to say.

No. As I said, for the most part average people really love the opportunity to talk about themselves. When/if they do tire of it they'll ask you a question about yourself, your opinion on something, etc.

The unfortunate truth is that a conversation is actually a selfish act. It requires a level of interest in a particular thing you want. Whether it's information, whether it's to brag or talk about yourself, whether you find a person particularly interesting, whether they seem like they are a type of person you see yourself becoming or the type of person you want to become and probe them for information on how they got there, or whether you are just infatuated and want to fuck them.

Conversation is ultimately selfish. And it really does take two to tango. As much as sex requires both of you to cooperate with each other's rhythms and connections, a conversation requires a level of cooperation otherwise one person would end up leading the conversation, eventually hitting a roadblock.

I don't blame you for not knowing how to talk. I didn't either. Being shunned and the odd one out made it increasingly hard to nurture any social ability. I ended up working in retail and doing sales and developing my ability to socialise in the working environment.

You just have to speak and be well read. Be knowledgeable and you will be more confident in what you say. So many people lie through their teeth that it's ridiculous.

For starters, there different types of conversation, a lot in fact.
It can range from normal chit chat about meaningless shit, to talking about how are things going to deep conversations and everything in between.

And yes people like to talk about themselves, especially woman.

How will the conversation go will depend on who you're talking to and who are they to you. But in order to have a conversation first a topic must be picked, it can be :

>a movie
>how is uni
>your plans for summer holidays
If your sex organs dangle you don't gossip

People who only want to talk and not listen are not worthy wasting time unless you want to get in their pants. Actual conversation is back and forth, you make your own points, you ask questions.

Try going to some normal chat rooms, and definitely avoid trying to learn how to converse on 4chan.

Also if you have any views or opinions that can be considered radical or unpopular, keep them to yourself and those few you know you can speak freely to.
