Before I started using 4chan about a year or two ago, I had no clue that India had among the highest incidence of street shitting in the entire world. If you live in a city you don't get to really see it. I believe on an average, about 7 percent of urban Indians don't have toilets. Sounds reasonable given there are more people who earn less than an American dollar a day even in the city. However in rural areas, the problem seems to transcend poverty. So all in all as of 2015, 28.9 percent of the national population does not poo in the loo. Bangladesh, Pakistan and most African nations are better off than this. Now this is actually surprising even to me. The amount of time I have spent in this website where my nation is identified by shit, I have started viewing my country very negatively. Even other third worlders throw poo in loo jokes at me on the internet. What do?

Designated shitting streets don't actually exist. Most people do it in fields or farmlands in villages, and behind bushes or into an open drain in cities.

i mean, rural india's still a shithole, but don't let it get you down. I went to Kochi last year and it was lovely, India's got some amazing parts and some shitty parts just like everywhere else.
