I did have a part-time job for 5 months while I was actively trying to get employed. The boss was never here so his assistant, a woman, was leading everything if you can call it leading.

yeah I quit my shitty minimum wage job last week. it was tangentially related to the creative industry I want to go in to, but there was 0 chance of promotion because of the small size of the business


I've looked at other jobs, but honestly I'm just so much happier knowing I'm not a slave to someone else. I wish I had the motivation to make a career, but there is something about dedicating that many hours of my life to something that literally makes me want to commit suicide that just doesn't seem worth it anymore.

How do so many people just happily accept the wageslave life, guys? I lasted less than a year at this job before realising the entire idea of society is a prison that keeps you as tired as possible for as long as possible.

As always there is no awareness of the global reality in these hack articles. Why the fuck would men be participating with any semblance of enthusiasm in a workforce that clearly has no regard for their quality of life whatsoever? And if they turn their head to the social landscape, they see online dating, drunken insanity, entitlement and absurd amounts of pressure to look and act like a certain brand of Hollywood male. Then they look at politics and the mess is even worse, where celebrity culture and social media have turned the public sphere into a fucking orgy of identity politics and pseudo-resistance which is basically people breaking windows and screaming about equality. Then the global political situation is even worse. Torture and murder the likes of which would horrify a medieval executioner being carried out on a daily basis and no one seems to give much of a shit because, once more, we're too busy working 8 hours at a miserable job then spending the rest of our time gawking at stuff on the internet so we can be mentally prepared for the next day of the slog.

I work a minimum wage job at a McDonald's, but because the min wage is $10.10 here in Iowa, I make a pretty decent wage and have 1k+ in savings so far. My rent is also low since I live in a poor part of town with a buddy of mine (split rent) and we just sort of do nothing but work and play vidya (he does, I don't) or play music.

Dropping out of college and finding a job was the best decision I ever made honestly. If you have no idea what you want to do in the future, do NOT go to college. It is the worst decision you can ever make. You have to know beforehand what you're going to college for now more than any other time in history, since tuition is skyrocketing at a rate that makes literally no sense. You either drop out and live small like me or get out and find out you're $100k in debt with only a job at a fast food restaurant for help.

There is no escaping the hell we have been born into, but there is escaping the fires of it.

Plus if you ask me, colleges do that shit on purpose, helps to have a captive audience. For fucks sake people can't even grasp the fact of starting at $40,000 a year after two years with next to no student debt, meanwhile people flock to colleges and end up with so much debt they're fucked for life. Even nowadays you could take online courses for whatever interests you, so you have the option of learning more of a certain field (engineering, astronomy, etc.) while you're at a good job making good money. It's fucking lunacy that more people don't realize this. Plus it'd probably give some people some balls for once. And to top it all off, it's infinitely better than wagecucking and you'll get a sense of pride knowing that your work stopped that building from being destroyed by flooding or that you made a house much more comfortable to live in. Next to no competition also pretty much guarantees a job wherever they are available, which for the U.S at least is pretty much most of the country.

I'm 26. I work 30 - 35 hours a week, pull $1500 - $2000 a month. I dropped out of college, I just don't want to pick a "career". I can't see myself working that hard and killing myself, for what?
