I've read maybe 1/2 into it, plus multiple pages of the ending.

I can understand the idea of truly being so fucking done, so irritated and shoved aside by the world that you simply take action. Our approaches or perception of women is markedly different. Women are memes that are attracted to memes. Women like chad, women like x y z, who gives a fuck? Dude could have been fucking 10/10 hookers and smoking meth.

I feel really bad for him. I wish he could have found something else to channel himself into. He was in an echelon of society so far beyond what most people will ever be in. The guy has an obvious narcissistic personality disorder. He thought everything should be handed to him. He clearly had depression and some other problems too. It's such an interesting read. While I didn't actually read it I listened to the audiobook MumkeyJones did. Elliot is an interesting case to look into because of how much he left before he did the shooting. He had such a fucked life, and if he had a better upbringing he could of had a decent life. That is, if they don't get it the first time, they probably comprehend the message the second time (or vice versa).

There's also another type of repetitiveness in MTW: some things happen again and again. I'm sure Elliot did it on purpose, to show the readers his life was stagnating, going in a cycle over and over again. In fact, he directly points it out in at least one paragraph, which is about Christmas and New Year's Eve (and finds this repetition amusing).
