The US military has plenty of young 18 year old applicants with perfect health, never broken a bone, and no criminal history. They have more than they can take already. There's no room for me. A chef friend of mine is becoming an officer in August, so it definitely does happen. Not me tho. Going on stage corporal this year but I don't really care. I'm studying online to get a degree on psychology, paying it with legion money, I'm just her passing by. It's easily the best way to get back on your feet and some money on your pockets unless you spend it all on hookers every weekend like a GV. For most of your basic instruction (or all of it if your chef de section is a cunt) you won't have access to a phone which means no communication. That's 4 months. You do get two or three afternoons free in town, everyone just calls their moms to tell them they're fine and stuff, that's what I did at least. Once you arrive to your regiment, you're more of a free man.
