These questions are all really stupid.

I want to answer 'somewhat me' to all of them, because I've lived a pretty diverse life. My patterns of behavior simply aren't stable enough for me to answer *most* of these questions definitively.

Let's use the first few as examples:

I'm going to assume they're asking 'are you impulsive'. Sure, sometimes.

If I'm playing basketball I'll not think too much about trying to deflect, instead I'll go with my gut because I'm making constant split-second decisions.

What the fuck do they mean by physical impulses? What's the distinction between a physical impulse and a regular one? Are they asking if I masturbate a lot?

Unrelated to what? What the fuck is this test? It's like an IQ test but the more questions you answer the stupider you are. I'm going to assume they're asking 'do you ramble? do you get lost in thought?' SURE, SOMETIMES!

WHAT OTHER SHIT WOULD PEOPLE DETERMINE SUCCESS BY?

Even if you think success is purely subjective, you're still SUBJECTIVELY MEASURING your experience. Happiness is something you can measure in yourself. Contentment too.

But, hey, they did end up specifically mentioning 'objective methods' and the answer, yet again, is SURE, SOMETIMES.

The first question refers to thinking with your gut and how quick you are to act on what your body wants, including wanting to play a sport, eat good food, do good drugs or fuck. You won't hesistate to try to do these things if you prioritize the cognitive process the first question is looking for.

These charts are good for giving a quick understanding of things but useless for typing. You cant possibly know how your brain works by trying to observe your thoughts. All kinds of variables, the biggest and hardest to overcome being your ego, muddy the waters when it comes to this. The best way to type imo is by observing real world behaviour (hard to deny your actual actions irl) and picking it apart to get to the thought process behind it. INTP here. I thought I was ENTP for a while. Boy, that was a huge mistake. I'm more like someone who experiments with society rather than thriving on it in any sense. Always used my intelligence and looks to get along when I was forced to or felt like taking a short break from studying.

Also, one of my best friends was a guy 10 years older than me who was super depressed but super nice and down to drink beer absolutely anytime. It was the perfect friendship. Yeah don't take your isolated case for a rule, it really isn't. This places gathers all the depressed INTPs, but a lot of them aren't because they took hold of their functions, matured them properly and now they're in control of their lives. And in theses cases, we are very, very irrational, sometimes overly so. If you don't live like a literal cat, you're not doing INTP properly.

As an (cerebretronic) INTJ, should I stay away from ISFJ women? I'm the closest I've been in a long time to a woman currently to an ISFJ, but even then it's not a really close relationship. I hung out with her once to talk and we just really aren't that intellectually compatible. I see her today after a long while and I'm happy and we have some good talks, but later I ask her if she'd like to hang out again and she's ignored the question completely.

Do you think she's being coy or nervous about it, or is it her polite way of turning me down?

Thanks for the reply. That sounds bad. Are there like different types of ISFJs? This one regularly sees a therapist, on account of some mental issues related to self-esteem I think, she doesn't have a huge amount of friends, and she's in to social justice, particularly environmental issues. She used to volunteer at an elementary school.

Also, is this an experienced observation or something you gathered from theory?

Yeah, that's how I feel too. I have a lot of appreciation for emotion, but I can only really use it to process things abstractly like art or the sublime ramifications of some concept. Empathizing with others makes me feel grounded and in touch with the world, which is nice once in a while.

Yes. I don't take it too seriously because I like their passion and tend to encourage rather than argue with them about things. If they're outright wrong I'll present the correction in a way that makes them see they were on the right track anyway.
