Don't use the jelly ones, those ones are very reactive and wear down very quickly as you use them, leeching into your butt. Other than that type, most of them are non toxic and not particularly reactive. Also make sure you use lots of lube. I recommend J-lube powder from Amazon, it's cheap and a single bottle can make a tub full of viscous lube. It's also completely non toxic.

Avoid jelly material and pthalates. High quality silicone and tempered glass are usually some of the best options. Like those have said before, with platinum cured silicone the toy can last for ages with proper care. Also make sure you don't use silicone lube with silicone toys, they'll react and fuck up the toy. If you're ever uncertain about a dildo put a condom on it.
