Does anyone else feel l like you grew out videogames? When I was 17 I used to play for hours and hours and now I can barely sit 30 min in a game that was supposed to interest me.
Only the newest Doom managed to pique my interest enough for me to finish the main campaign.
I'm the same way.
It sucks.

Play sooperior jap games
i haven't played video games in like 8 years. i spend my copious amounts of alone time reading mostly.
Play arcade games, survival games, platformers.
>>36094124
Um no. /v/irgin here and dont listen to this anonymous user.
>>36094143
What do you suggest then??

Oh yeah, I used to play video games 24/7 with some of my friends, those were the days, no cares in the world. Now I'm in my senior year of college and I've had almost no time for the vidya (and well, I put my time into other stuff as well), but recently I've been making time to play KF2 with a close friend and holy fuck, it's fun. I even played a solid hour of BF1 last night and I think I'm getting back into it. A bit sad to say, but they're really my only connections to my friends (at least one who lives out of state), but that's how we came to know each other, and I don't see myself ever stopping, just slowing down is all.
In short, I don't think anyone really "grows out" of video games per se, they just change the frequency at which they play.
>>36094172
Um anything but those, you know?
>>36094175
Quit your career and go full bore back into it.
Trust me, its worth it.
Used to have no money and all the time in the world for games. Now I have plenty of gaming money but no time for it.
Seriously, I've still got half a dozen PS3 games in their plastic I never got around to.
Normie as fuck though so I compensate with a normal social life.
Am cultris 2 pro, only game I will play.
Only time I can play for extended periods of time is when I'm playing with friends.
I'm pretty much incapable of playing alone at this point.
>>36094232
Ok. You cant knock platformers though, if you do you simply dont have good taste.
Pretty much, haven't bought a steam game in over a year now, my account is like 6-7 years old and I only have like 18 games but I played the fuck out of them, 4-5 of them have over 1000 hours on them but I haven't even logged into Steam in a month and I pretty much just browse YouTube all day.
NEET life is hell.
>>36094259
Shut up, ya transgemdered wop
I really fucking hate posts like this, or just people who complain video games aren't fun for them anymore. Look, it's a hobby, you need to put effort forth into enjoying it. I know this sounds strange and dumb that you need to TRY to make something fun but that's how it is. We might not have as much energy or excitement or naivety to get totally sucked into games like we used to, so you have to really search for a game you like. I'm twenty four and I went through a long time of games not being fun for me. I realized you have to hunt down a game you want to play, research what's new and fun, and even when you start playing you might even have to force yourself to keep playing for awhile but a hobby is a hobby and it's there to give you mild entertainment.
Computers also might overload you with too many options, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and like noting is worth playing. Try emulators.
>>36094411
You have to admit it's a real chit hobby
>>36094074
Yeah, last time I touched my Play Station was to watch a movie. Sadly I'm not spending the time I used to spend on vidya wisely.
>>36094074
27, and absolutely not anon. League of Legends is super fun to me every match- Nier: Automata is fucking god tier, For Honor, Mario Kart 64, Power Stone are all fun for hours on end.
Vidya didnt change, you did.
>>36094353
No, youre right. Platformers are really good. It was the other stuff.
>>36094353
platformers suck, like what's the point? the only games worth playing are strategy games, at least then you're not -completely- wasting your time
>>36094366
What country? You want to be my work slave, I've got a job for a NEET like you.It would actually be really easy, no slave labor, accomplishable from computer
>>36094175
Same for me. I'll probably play all my life, just at a much lower rate than I used to. It's a nice hobby that you can pick up and put down whenever you want.
Would be nice to play vidya with kids if I ever end up having any.
>>36094480
>Vidya
Cringe tbqh. Only beta bitches use that word
>>36094491
Found the shit taste anon.

>>36094582
>gaymer gets so btfo all he can manage to do is copy my post
>also outs himself as a pedophile for no reason
Lmao
>grew out vidya
Nope, the only trouble are my time constraints. Newer games are often fucking shit, but the few pearls in the mud can still hook me like they used to. Child at heart, I guess?
>>36094642
Do you speak German?
>>36094624
>>36094645
>pedo
Why is that webm pedo, it's just best Emma?
Yeah, unless it's something that's really gripped me at the moment, I'll play games for like 20 minutes and get bored.
Otherwise I'll play something consecutively for like a week then drop it, or play it slowly over the course of a month.
>>36094659
>Do you speak German?
I speak English, which is basically the same.
>>36094659
Different Anon, but yeah.
Why?
Disclaimer:Nigga I'm not writing papers for people again, as nice as it was in college it just wasn't worth it.
>tfw 3 years ago I spent 1200$ on a gaming rig and have only played Witcher 3 on it.
I know that feel all to well I rather listen to music and read a book rather than play games now even though video games kept me from killing myself in my youth.
>>36095170
>tfw I spent maybe $300 on a shitty netbook and played nothing but emulators, classic vidya and indie shit on it
>then 3ds hacking took off and my backlog spiraled out of control
Original doom is fun as fuck though.
And now I understand why /v/ praises Morrowind and Deus Ex 1 so much. Holy fuck.
>>36095234
play zdaemon?
>used to beat nethack at the start of ever year
>already april and can't bring myself to start a run
>watch videos of people fighting bosses in souls/bloodborne instead of making new characters even though I've done each game on new game+7 and am completely capable of beating them myself
>soldered a new battery in pokemon crystal so I could start a new playthrough
>can't even level up my poliwag without feeling fatigued
I'm sorry poliwag
>>36094074
>tfw that image looks just like a girl I used to know
The problem is that most mainstream post-2010-ish games are stale and uninspired.
On the rare occasion I play a video game (like 3-4 times a year at this point), it's usually on my old PS2.
>people born when the PS2 launched graduate high school next year
>>36094099
I wish I could overcome my cringe at playing them.
I want to take them seriously, I mean, I can't put myself above weebs or anything and I outright envy them, but there's cultural distance and I just can't maintain my suspension of disbelief.
>do anything other than waste my fucking life on this shit site
>feel stressed and like I'm wasting valuable time
I mean I still love playing video games but fuck if I don't have some sort of illness that makes me procrastinate having fun
>>36094404
Let me go cry into my non-virginity...
>>36094074
>>36094097
you've grown up dudes, congrats
only little babies play video games
I stopped liking video games when I was around 18 or 19, and I gave them up when I was 21.
I did the same thing with anime until I started watching GOOD anime like Nichijou and LoGH instead of garbage of the season.
>>36094074
I used to rotate through all my games I had as a kid like the adhd spaz like I was. Play an hour of this one and play and hour of that next. After becoming an adult I can no longer switch my game interests on the fly. I have a gigantic steam library full of great games that my former high school self would have killed to have. However, I only seem to play a handful for hundreds of hours plus while the rest remain untouched or played through once on easy and ignored ever since.
I feel bad for buying games during sales and bundles knowing I might not ever touch them. Luckily enough I suppose steam sales have been getting more and more meh. One day when I'm retired I'll begin working through my steam library and finishing each one. God willing.
>>36094074
persona 5 is mostly keeping me interested
grand strategy is my shit now though
>>36094074
Really the only game I play anymore is Red Orchestra 2.
>>36094074
>grew out of video games
>never actually learned to spell it
I thought the same, but then I got other hobbies and stopped caring about only videogames. There are days when I don't play. I distance myself from vidya as much as I can on the internet.
That way I started to enjoy games again though its still very rare for a game to keep me up late at night. Might a symptom of getting old, but once the clock ticks 2am, I'm usually shutting off any game I have on and go to bed like a good boy.
>>36094074
I've grown out of video games in the same way that I've grown out of enjoying things, I suppose.
>>36094099
Only like 2 of those are good
>>36094074
Yes, used to be a tryhard FPS and was a hardcore MMO raider for a couple years later. Taking a day off work for world/region firsts and the like.
Now I'm full casual, playing in little bite size chunks of easy mobileshit or sim / strategy games just to relax. I don't have the killer instinct to even play hearthstone anymore.
>>36094074
me finally no longer interested in vidya took me some time tho i was very addicted to shit like doto lol paladins. now i use that dedication to learn the violin. hope you guys eventually detox from gaming.
>>36094411
Kek. If you have to force yourself to like something, you're retarded. Try forcing yourself to enjoy being a cuckold before killing yourself.
>>36095234
Thief nezt, faggit
play fighting games
