Just create bogus email.
Install avast free using bogus email.
Run thorough boot time scan
Run thorough system scan
Comeback couple hours l8tr
Restart system
Check virus chest
Delete all the crap in there
Done
Or uninstall avast once your done if you don't want it. avast has a great detection rate. I had an old burner laptop get bombed with ad ware and spybots, avast killed that shit. From what I've heard kaspersky is also really good. I've also heard good things about avg as well.

Enjoy as it becomes more and more vulnerable due to getting swamped with social justice and old maintainers dropping from popular packages. Remember the bash bug? Imagine how many of those are in the ugly sprawl that is Linux now. Get fucked.

>widows defender and its piss poor detection rate

Windows defender is a fucking joke.

Avast only sends personal files to be scanned for malware if you tell it to.

You can just uninstall it once your done.

Malwarebytes is good too, but it's detection rate isn't as good.

Getting malware is inevitable when torrenting or getting retro game roms. It's bound to happen.
>>
>>36064427

It's pretty good now. It can catch things it couldn't before. And if you're still worried? Guess what? Malwarebytes to scan again.

>also acting like Avast has a better detection rate than Malwarebytes

Pretty sure there aren't going to be any 0-days on my PSP .isos that have been sitting on my drive for years. Probably wouldn't be 0-days anymore at least.

It's like all of you assholes think you're good with computers just because you know what C looks like and can use them better than normies. I'd wager not a single one of you queers can name the wiring scheme for TIA/EIA-568B off the top of your heads. Or A. Whichever.

God knows I always have to listen to someone who is "good with computers" whenever I'm at a site trying to unfuck routing tables by hand because some asshole decided to merge two VLANs without warning anyone.

avast is terrible and terribly updated for poorfags.

malwarebytes/adaware/roguekiller is the only acceptable combination.

I swear to god, for a little while I had some kind of virus that would play music without opening any applications. Nothing untoward showed up in task manager either. The spookiest part is that it happened while I was taking a college course over winter break, so the small apartment complex was mostly empty. The first time it had happened was when I was outside smoking a cigarette at night. I heard the faint music, then when I went inside I realized it was coming from upstairs. It was really spooky.

One time it made all my desktop icons hidden and turned the background to a solid black.

The music was like amateur rock music or something. But one time (during the day) it was a girl singing "I will always find you" or something. Another time it sounded like it was a clip from a radio show or something.
