It's hard as fuck, and I struggle with it, but you literally have to force your brain off.
Make a conscious effort as much as possible to turn off that constant future wondering or past worrying whenever you can. If you work at it long enough, it will become second nature to just focus on whatever you are currently doing. I've been making a big effort recently to 'live in the moment' and I think it's slowly improving my mental well-being (hard to say though).
