When I was 6 my parents divorced. My dad got wrapped up in some trouble with drugs(meth) and the court wouldn't allow him to have anything other than supervised visitations. He eventually quit paying child support and then after being held in contempt for not paying child support he offered to relinquish all custodial rights. The last time I saw him was at one of these supervised visits before this happened and that was when I was about 9 years old. My stepfather then adopted my sister and I and assumed the legal role as our father. My stepfather was an abusive shit and it fuckin sucked.

My dad has sent me messages on Facebook but I just ignore them. I'm 23 now and not sure if I should even bother reaching out to him because I can't imagine he's in a very good place due to the meth and all.
