Many transgender people do not transition because they're afraid they won't look right and they will be further socially ostracized, so they just keep the feelings of gender dysphoria balled up inside of them forever - this contributes to the ridiculously high suicide rate people who do not transition have.

Transgender people understand what biological sex is. If they're MtF, they know they were born a man. How can you imply they don't? The whole idea of being "trans" is that you're identifying as a gender other than the one you were born as. Trans people know they can't wake up after a surgery and have XX chromosomes - but at the same time, they're going to live with the gender dysphoria FOREVER either way. If you decide not to transition, you won't just stop thinking about it - it's going to be something following you around forever. It's just permanently a part of your being, whether or not you decide to act upon it.

Trans people who decide to transition are doing their best to appear as the gender they identify as, to quell their own dysphoria. It can be an uphill battle. But, some people pass really well.

Like I said, I don't power-rank problems. Transgenders face a disproportionate amount of violence and discrimination, which in my opinion is a problem.

Chromosones are a mess, with six common karotypes that are all pretty functional, it doesn't map cleanly onto a binary. (Those types being XX, XY, XXY, XYY, XXX and X).

Genitals are also a mess, they can be easily modified (the removal of ovaries and testes mainly) and intersex people have a wide variety of confusing combinations.

Hormones and secondary sex characteristics can be fucked with so effectively through things like HRT that if you used them to form your theory of sex you would A: come to some really weird conclusions and B: believe trans people counted as their target sex anyway.

Based on this, they put forward a (poorly phrased) argument that sex experiences much of the same problems that say, music does. There are things everyone can agree are music (Beethoven) and there are things that everyone can agree are not music (white noise), but where the actual border lies is fuzzy to the point of being impossible to determine. They are not saying that biological sex literally doesn't exist, just that you can't just assume it's a binary value and forget about it.
